How your information is handled by this practice and this website
This notice explains what personal information Aurelia Bridges Counselling & Psychotherapy collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It covers both this website and the therapy practice.
Who is responsible
Aurelia Bridges Counselling & Psychotherapy, Unit 3, 1-2 Johnstown, Newtown, Waterford, X91 WN1N, is the data controller. You can reach us at counselling@aureliabridges.com or on 087 974 0021.
Information collected through this website
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not build a profile of visitors.
Two third-party services are loaded on some pages, and both receive your IP address as a technical necessity of delivering content to your browser:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site.
- Google Maps provides the embedded map on the practical information and contact pages. This embed may set cookies in your browser.
Both are operated by Google. If you would prefer not to load the map, you can avoid the pages that carry it and use the written address instead.
The contact form
The contact form on this site does not transmit anything to a server. It opens a message in your own email application, pre-filled with what you typed. Nothing is stored by this website, and nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
Information collected as a client
If you become a client, records are kept as required for safe and ethical practice: contact details, brief session notes, and any relevant background you choose to share. Therapy records include health information, which receives additional protection under data protection law.
The lawful basis for holding this information is the provision of health care, and your consent for contact details used in arranging sessions. Records are held securely and are not shared with anyone except in the limited circumstances described on the practical information page: risk of serious harm, a legal requirement, or anonymised discussion in clinical supervision.
How long information is kept
Client records are retained in line with IACP guidance and Irish legal requirements, then securely destroyed. Enquiries that do not lead to therapy are deleted once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what information is held about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, to request erasure in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive a copy of information you provided. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
