About Aurelia Bridges
MGR Master of Psychology | Accredited IACP | Graduate Member PSI
I am a qualified psychologist and accredited psychotherapist with a Master of Psychology (MGR) and a Diploma in Gestalt Therapy. I am an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
My practice is based in Waterford, at City Enterprise Centre in Waterford Business Park. I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where clients can feel safe to explore whatever is troubling them.
I work with adults and couples experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions.
My aim is to support you to take risks, to overcome traumatic events from the past and to become brave enough to face issues hidden behind closed doors.
I believe that therapy is most effective when built on a foundation of trust, respect, and genuine human connection. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you discover your own insights and strengths.
What Accreditation Means for You
High Standards
IACP accreditation means I have met rigorous standards of training, practice, and professional development.
Regular Supervision
I attend regular clinical supervision to ensure the highest quality of care and continued professional growth.
Ethical Practice
I am bound by the IACP Code of Ethics, ensuring your rights and wellbeing are always protected.
Accountability
You can verify my registration on the IACP website at any time, giving you confidence in my credentials.
I am also a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), Ireland's professional body for psychology.
My Therapeutic Approach
I practise from a Gestalt and Integrative perspective. This means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, always tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.
Gestalt Therapy focuses on your present-moment experience — what you are thinking, feeling, and sensing right now. Through this awareness, we can begin to understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck and explore new possibilities for change.

What I Believe
Respect & Dignity
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. You are the expert on your own life, and I honour that.
Your Own Pace
Therapy should never feel rushed or pressured. We work together at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
The Therapeutic Relationship
The relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of effective therapy. I strive to create a genuine, trusting connection.
Autonomy & Collaboration
My role is to support your autonomy, not to direct your life. Therapy is a collaborative process where your voice always matters.
